TOURISM DIVISION

One of the most crucial departments in LADA, the Tourism Division was established to market Langkawi as a world-class tourist destination. It handles all major tourism-related events such as the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), MATTA Fair, Tourism Festival and Ironman Langkawi.

It also aggressively promotes Langkawi as the only UNESCO-designated Geopark in Southeast Asia. The division regular promotes Langkawi abroad and has done public relations tours in Berlin, Australia, Finland and Dubai.

TOURISM DEVELOPMENT DIVISION FUNCTIONS

  • Examining the event programs organized by the government and private sectors and implement the planned event in the tourism calendar
  • Examine and review the programs held by the private sector using LADA's sponsorship to be in line with the mission of LADA to make Langkawi a great tourist destination
  • Plans programs for domestic and international promotion with Tourism Malaysia and the private sector
  • Studied the appropriate advertising medium for promotion and marketing for both domestic and international market
  • Collect data related to tourism in Langkawi and compile a structured records

EVENTS & PROMOTION DIVISION FUNCTIONS

  • Developing the tourism industry to generate income and jobs for Langkawi communities
  • Promote the tourism sector in and outside the country in a professional, effective and continues to meet the requirements of international and domestic tourists
  • Strengthening and improving service quality
  • Promote international and domestic tourists to Langkawi
  • Provide and creating the atmosphere of a professional service
  • Conducting events that have been planned in the travel calendar
