The icon of Langkawi, Eagle Square or locally known as Dataran Lang is the home for Langkawi\u2019s giant statue of an eagle which according to old folklore where Langkawi get its name from : The two Malay words \u2013 \u2018helang\u2019 (eagle) and \u2018kawi\u2019 (reddish brown): hence lang-kawi.<\/p>\n

Perched 12 meters above the star shaped concrete deck overlooking the Kuah Jetty, the eagle is always a welcoming icon for every traveller coming into Langkawi. Visitors can get up close to the base of the statue for their holiday photo. Since the square is open to public almost all the times, you can snap all the pictures you want!<\/p>\n<\/div>
