The International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, aims to raise awareness of the importance of mangrove ecosystem as “a unique, special and vulnerable ecosystem” and to promote solutions for their sustainable management, conservation and uses.

This forum aims to provide an opportunity for the local community to engage with the relevant stakeholders in the development of Langkawi UGGp. It also involves the community in the planning, strategies and direction of future building development.

Langkawi Writers Festival is an event to develop the arts, culture, language and literature of Langkawi. This event encourages the public to better understand the history of the Malay language while upholding its appeal through the writing of young writers, in hope that their works will be accepted to the broader world of literature.

This championship targets 250 participants from 17 countries. The 8th edition of this championship is also recognized by the International Carrom federation (ICF).

National Fossil Day is an annual celebration held to highlight the scientific and educational value of palaeontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations.

Supported by Global Geoparks Network (GGN) and UNESCO regional offices, we will be hosting the 5th regional course on UNESCO Global Geopark to increase the sustainability of our Geopark. The workshop will focus on geosite developments and geotourism, delivered exclusively by GGN experts.
