Langkawi, 25th February 2021 – LADA in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare (JKM) had organised Chinese Community Welfare Programme. This was done through the method of distributing contributions to the Chinese community for Chinese New Year and Chap Goh Mei night celebrated throughout the world. The programme aimed to help relieve the burden of less capable community in their daily lives, particularly in facing the difficulties and challenges resulted from the spread of COVID-19.

The programme was held in replacement of the annual Chinese New Year Celebration Programme, signifying the interracial unity in Langkawi. JKM had also prepared information on aid recipients to help ensure the programme could reach its targeted community in need.

The contributions were delivered by YBrs. Dr. Hezri Adnan, LADA Chief Executive Officer, accompanied by En. Bun Tham A/L Eh Gin, Langkawi Social Welfare Officer, Cik Nordiana binti Nordin, Corporate Services Unit Manager, and a few LADA officers.

Overall, a total of RM8,250.00 was allocated for 33 aid recipients, whereby contributions were delivered in the form of cash and daily necessities. The recipients comprise B40 Group, Persons with Disabilities (OKU), bedridden chronic patients, and the elderlies.
