The much awaited festive Le Tour De Langkawi 2020 (LTDL2020) was successfully held across Malaysia from 7th to 15th February 2020. The tour embarked on its ten stages of journey in Sabah and continued pass Sarawak, the East Coast, and finally ended on the legendary Langkawi island. The prestigious international event was organised by Human Voyage Sdn. Bhd. and was officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad.

LTDL2020 had recorded participations from 22 teams: six of them were World Tour teams, 15 Pro-Continental and Asia Tour Continental teams, and one national team. A total of eight race stages were introduced for this leg of LTDL2020, with an addition of two new categories for this year: namely the Malaysian International Criterium Race and Malaysian International Classic Race. The following are the results for some of the categories competed in Langkawi:

Stage 8 (held on 14th February 2020):
(1) Winner: Walscheid Maximilian (Germany)
(2) Runner-up: Pacioni Luca (Italy)
(3) Second runner-up: Jones Taj (Australia)

MMC Malaysian Classic (held on 15th February 2020):
(1) Winner: Le Bon Johan (France)
(2) Runner-up: Ewart Jesse (Australia)
(3) Second runner-up: De Rossi Lucas (France)

LTDL2020 aims to promote the country’s tourism sports industry and cycling sports growth. Not only that, with the extensive coverage on the event by newspapers, radios, television channels, magazines, Youtube channels, websites, and social media, thousands of cycling fans across the world could be reached. Indirectly, the local and international media broadcasting help to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2020.

The event also helps to promote Langkawi as an international level ecosports organising hub in the region which also houses the organising of similar ecosports events like The Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2020, Ironman Malaysia Langkawi, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour 2020, and other various events.
