LADA in collaboration with the Tamil Youth Bell Club (KBBT) has organised the Deepavali Celebration Programme 2022 held at the Dewan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Sungai Raya.
A total of 700 Hindu members of the Indian community from all around Langkawi came to enliven the programme with a variety of activities, including traditional Indian cooking demonstrations, Kolam-making competitions, cultural performances and traditional dress competitions. The programme was attended by YBrs. Tuan Ahmad Fuad Bin Che Ani @ Abdul Ghani, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Management) of LADA and Mr. Nagaiah A/L Vellu, KBBT Advisor. Also present were Encik Mohd Norazam Bin Azizan, Langkawi District Unity Officer and DSP Sri Viknesvaran A/L Renganathan, Langkawi PDRM representative.
It is hoped that this kind of programme can fuel the spirit of unity as well as preserve art and culture among diverse communities, especially on Langkawi Island.
