Travel is the best education and to learn beyond borders is something truly extraordinary. Not only do students get to meet new friends and explore interesting places, but they also gain new experiences that enhance their capability to communicate and adapt in various situations. Given the current geopolitical climate, programmes like this promote understanding and appreciation of different cultures and traditions among youth, especially those of the host country.

The Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) this week hosted 41 students and teachers from Yiwu Qunxing Foreign Language School from Zhejiang, China at the Langkawi Geopark Discovery Centre (LGDC).

The students were given the opportunity to participate the weekly mangrove tree planting activity and also our Idaman Geosite Clean Up (IGSC #106). They were also brought to embarked on the journey of understanding Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark along with 30 students from SMK Mahsuri and 7 primary school students from SJK(C) Chung Hwa.

A special shout-out to all the teachers, Geopark rangers and travel agents for making this program a success!
