Langkawi, 22nd of December 2022 – Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) has conducted a Media Retreat Programme from the 21st of December to 24th of December 2022 located in Johor Bahru.

In addition, it was also shared that various initiatives have been arranged throughout the year 2022 to ensure the promotion of Langkawi Island can be implemented successfully.

As many as 12 tourism events have taken place in December 2022 as part of LADA’s initiative to bring back the excitement on this legendary island, especially during the school holidays.

One of the events that drew both international and domestic tourists is Pesta Bendang at Laman Padi which took place from the 16th to the 18th of December 2022.

With a more robust communication action plan in 2023, LADA hopes that collaboration with the media can help develop the direction of promotion and publicity for Langkawi tourism.

In the meantime, this media retreat programme can also provide an opportunity for LADA to learn and gain knowledge about the management and development of infrastructure / facilities in line with LADA’s role in developing Langkawi and handling the management of assets, facilities and investments. Following that, information sharing with the Iskandar Puteri City Council as well as visits to the Dataran Iskandar Puteri and Puteri Harbor Ferry Terminal were also carried out in this session.

LADA also focuses on the development of cultural tourism in Langkawi. Therefore, in order to deepen the art and culture conservation efforts to dignify Langkawi’s “cultural DNA”, a visit to Yayasan Warisan Johor was completed today.
