Langkawi, 13th October 2021 – Dataran Lang or Eagle Square today was lively with the organising of Program Santai LADA Bersama Komuniti (LADA Leisure Programme With Community) officiated by Tuan Nasaruddin bin Abdul Muttalib, Chief Executive Officer of Langkawi Development Authority (LADA).

The program began with Contribution Delivery Session under New Economic Project, Langkawi Economy Roadmap Plan (HELANG) to TapawFood Services Company. Representing 50 contribution recipients from the company was Encik Zabel Iqbal bin Zainon, founder cum Chief Executive Officer of the food delivery service company.

“Exactly one year after starting our operation, TapawFood has begun offering new delivery service involving groceries. Currently, we have established collaboration with four main retail enterprises around Langkawi which include Teow Soon Huat Duty Free, Pasar Raya Kedawang, BHK Duty Free and PL Soon Huat. Soon in November 2021, TapawFood will also begin collaborating with Pasar Raya Borong KH Nizam,” says Zabel Iqbal.

Since commencing its operation in August 2020, TapawFood has succesfully generated RM1.5 million profit through 10,300 registered users as well as 193 and 20 active vendors and riders respectively.

Nasaruddin was quoted as saying, “To further support and motivate the company to achieve greater success in the future, LADA has contributed RM16,290.00 in the forms of 10 Smart Android Mobile POS Terminal units, 20 pairs of official uniforms, and 10 delivery boxes to be used by TapawFood delivery riders. One billboard to promote the company has also been mounted last September for a period of six months until March 2022.”

Meanwhile, a Handover Session of Approval Letters for Community Small Project Phase 2 2021 was also held during the programme involving seven Langkawi community representatives. The projects are implemented under Small Infrastructure thrust of LADA Community Development Strategic Plan which covers maintenance and repairing works as well as supplying of equipment in aspects of local public facilities, economy, religion, and education. The total cost covered in implementing the seven approved community small projects for 2021’s second phase is RM130,500.
